The way we use patient data is changing: We aim to provide the highest quality care. To do this, we routinely collect information about you and the care you receive from us. Like other hospitals across England, we are changing how we share and use this data… Find out more
Small changes that can make a big difference are the focus of this year’s Self Care Week which runs 18-24 November and will feature three events in Walsall.
The week raises awareness around the support available for people managing their long term conditions such as asthma, diabetes arthritis and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).
In Walsall this week residents will be able to find out more about the Self Care Management Programmes that are run through Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust.
Jo Hannigan, Business Support Manager for Self Care Management Programmes said: “Our courses can be life-changing for many patients who build on their existing skills and experience to feel confident and in control of their long term health condition.
“Self Care is about prioritising your physical health and mental wellbeing and making small changes to start with to help you make the most of your life. These can then lead to bigger changes. During Self Care Week we will be explaining how our courses work and advising people how they can make meaningful changes. This will be supported by blogs from some of our patients which will hopefully inspire people too.”
