Our Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team supports adults who have problems with swallowing, speaking, and understanding and voice difficulties. The team includes Speech and Language Therapists and Assistant Speech and Language Therapists.

We support people who have difficulties because of illness, injury, or other health conditions

The team assesses and treats swallowing problems (dysphagia), language difficulties (aphasia/dysphasia), speech problems that affect clear talking (dysarthria), voice problems (dysphonia), and stammering (dysfluency).

The aim is to empower the adult to reach their full communication potential and participate fully in their life.

We work closely with the adult and their families, carers, and other healthcare staff to enable and empower people to communicate more easily, eat and drink safely, and take part in everyday activities with confidence and independence.
