It was a Christmas day to remember for Walsall parents and their families – with ten babies in total arriving on Christmas day, including a set of twins!
Abida Sheikh gave birth to the first Christmas day arrival, a 7 pounds 10 oz baby girl at 2.50am. She is still deciding on a name.
Our Fundraising Manager Georgie Westley went to visit her and hand over a gift for the new arrival as well as a pampering present for mum – donated through our Well Wishers charity.
Abida is now a mum of eight and said her family was taking care of everything at home while she was recovering.
Baby Leo was the first new-born boy coming into the world at 8.47am and weighing 6 pounds 8 oz to the delight of first time mum Hayley Freeman and dad Adrian Lawson, a chef.

Leo was the first baby boy to arrive on 25 December
Hayley, who is a supervisor, said baby Leo is a first grandchild for both families and already has loads of presents waiting for him at home!
Georgie handed over a beautiful blanket for Leo, a pampering gift for mum and some sweet treats for dad.
Our warmest wishes go to all the Christmas day babies as well as a huge thank you to the staff on duty supporting our proud mums.
