Farewell to Janice

After 39 years’ service finance officer Janice Cheetham is retiring today and counting on a well-deserved rest.

Janice started her career in housekeeping where she worked her way up to becoming a housekeeping supervisor over west wing. She then moved into general office as a clerical assistant before landing her current role. She has worked for Walsall healthcare NHS Trust since 1984.

The grandmother-of-nine said: “What I have enjoyed most during my career is the friends I have made. I have had made so many friends who I will cherish forever and in general I have loved working for the NHS.”

When asked what she will miss the most Janice, aged 65, said: “Again, it is all the lovely colleagues and friends I have made that I will miss the most. I am also a very dedicated worker and have loved my job but I feel now is the right time to go.”

Associate Director - Patient Relations & Experience, Garry Perry said: “Janice can be rightly proud of her commitment – she has diligently carried out her duties with professionalism and pride in her work. She will be missed by her colleagues and I know she is looking forward to spending more time with her husband Robert, family and grandchildren.”

During her retirement Janice will be planning to have lots of holidays, going out a lot, walking, reading, chilling and enjoying the rest of her life.

Janice also wanted to add: “Thank you to the NHS for making my life complete.”
