Information on industrial action

Consultants will be taking industrial action on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 July, and this is likely to have a significant impact on frontline hospital services.

We will be prioritising the most urgent services, such as emergency care and cancer care, so we may need to cancel some procedures and appointments. We are contacting all affected patients, so if you have an appointment scheduled and you haven’t heard from us, please attend your department or clinic as normal.

During this busy time, it’s important to help us help you by using the right service for your needs: please use NHS 111 online or call 111 for expert advice. You can also ask your pharmacist or contact your GP. This will help us to prioritise those in the most urgent need and keep our services running safely.
