Acute Oncology

What we do

The Acute Oncology Service (AOS) also called the red alert card number, helps patients who call with symptoms related to their cancer treatment. Patients may get a follow up call with advice or might need to go to the emergency department or same day emergency care. The service checks all patients with side effects or problems from their cancer treatment as quickly as needed. They also help patients in the hospital by working with medical and surgical teams. The service works closely with your specialist nurses, oncology doctors and nearby hospitals.
