Clinical Haematology

The Clinical Haematology Service provides specialist care for patients with blood disorders, including anaemia, clotting disorders, bleeding conditions, and blood cancers.

We support the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing monitoring of a wide range of haematological conditions, working closely with other hospital and community teams to deliver safe, effective, and personalised care. Patients may be seen in outpatient clinics, day treatment services, or as inpatients, depending on their individual needs.

The Clinical Haematology Service is based at Walsall Manor Hospital.

Outpatient clinics and treatment services are provided within the hospital, with some aspects of care delivered in partnership with specialist tertiary centres where required.

Access to the Clinical Haematology Service is by referral from a GP, Consultant, or other healthcare professional. Patients cannot self-refer.

Following receipt of a referral, the team will review the information and arrange the most appropriate appointment or investigation. If required, you will be contacted with details of your appointment and any preparation instructions.

Results and clinic letters are sent to the referring clinician, who will co-ordinate any ongoing care, treatment, or follow-up.
