Our Complex Dementia and Delirium Team provides a specialist service for patients of any age attending Walsall Manor Hospital with a confirmed diagnosis of dementia/cognitive impairment with more complex need.
The service will also offer assessments and support for patients over the age of 65 with diagnosis of or suspected delirium that is protracted or not responding to first line treatments and/or the patient presents a risk to themselves or others because of the delirium.
The Complex Dementia and Delirium Team is based in an office on Route 121 at Walsall Manor Hospital.
Referrals to the team have to made by a healthcare professional through the EARL system.
The team accepts referrals from across the whole hospital as well as from Community Mental Health Services, Safeguarding Services and any Community Services that have concerns around patients presenting with dementia and delirium.
