Dermatology

What We Do

The Dermatology department at Walsall Manor Hospital provides a comprehensive service for all issues concerning the skin, hair, and nails. Our team of expert Consultant Dermatologists, a Clinical Nurse specialist, and a training Registrar manages common skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and acne, as well as specialist diagnosis and treatment for rarer disorders.

We offer several specialised services:

  • Skin Cancer Service: We are a major centre for skin cancer management, offering diagnosis and treatment for most skin cancers. Our consultants perform skin surgery, including advanced procedures like skin grafts and flaps, and we work closely with plastic surgery colleagues for the most complex cases.
  • Paediatric Dermatology: Led by a Consultant with a special interest in children’s skin problems, this service provides expert management for children. We offer a wide range of treatments, including patch testing, phototherapy, and surgery.
  • Joint Genital Dermatology Clinics: We hold monthly joint clinics with specialists in genito-urinary medicine and gynaecology to manage patients with genital skin problems.

Please note: We do not offer a general allergy service or food allergy testing. We do, however, provide patch testing to investigate specific allergic contact dermatitis.

Our services are located at Walsall Manor Hospital, though clinics are held in various locations within the hospital.
