Paediatrics

What We Do

The Paediatrics department at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides a wide range of medical care for children and young people, from birth up to their 18th birthday. Our services are designed to address the specific health needs of young people, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a comfortable environment.

Our services include:

  • Outpatient clinics for a variety of conditions, including general paediatrics, diabetes, respiratory issues, and epilepsy.
  • Inpatient care on our children’s ward for those who need to stay in hospital.
  • A Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU), which is a dedicated area for children who need urgent medical attention but may not require a stay on the ward.
  • A neonatal unit for premature and unwell babies, which provides specialised care and support.
  • Specialist nurses who provide expert care and advice for conditions like diabetes and asthma.

Our team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals are dedicated to making every child’s experience as stress-free as possible.
