What We Do
Podiatrists (also known as chiropodists) are healthcare professionals who specialise in diagnosing and treating conditions of the feet and lower legs. Our service focuses on providing high-quality, timely care, prioritising those who are at a higher risk of developing serious foot problems.
Our team is qualified to help with a wide range of issues, including those related to:
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Sports injuries
- Ingrown toenails
We also provide care for:
- Painful skin conditions like corns and calluses
- Foot problems linked to poor circulation or loss of feeling
- Biomechanical gait issues
- Wound (ulcer) prevention and management
- Falls prevention and patient education
We also see children who have leg, foot, and ankle pain related to their growth. For patients who are bedbound, we can provide home visits.

Our community-based Podiatry service operates from several health centres across Walsall.

- Brownhills Medical Centre
- Sai Medical Centre
Our service operates from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
How to Access the Service
You can access our service in two ways:
- Professional Referral: Your doctor or another medical professional can refer you.
- Self-Referral: You can refer yourself by completing our online form. A senior podiatrist will then review your referral to determine if it meets our service criteria before an appointment is sent to you in the post.
