Tissue Viability

The Tissue Viability Service specialises in the prevention, assessment, and management of wounds. We support patients with complex wounds, pressure ulcers (pressure sores), leg ulcers, and other conditions that affect skin integrity and healing.

Our specialist Nurses work closely with GPs, District Nurses, Community teams, hospital staff, care homes, patients, and their families to ensure people receive the most appropriate care and treatment. We provide expert advice, develop treatment plans, support education and training for healthcare professionals, and help promote wound healing while reducing the risk of complications.

Where we are based

We are based at Walsall Manor Hospital and provide services to patients registered with a Walsall GP across a range of community and hospital settings.

How to access the service

A referral from a healthcare professional is required to access the Tissue Viability Service. We accept referrals from GPs and community and hospital healthcare professionals caring for patients registered with a Walsall GP.
