Our Children’s Outpatients Department holds clinics for children and young people from birth to adulthood.
You can see a Paediatrician, Specialist Consultant or Specialist Nurse in clinics for epilepsy, allergies, cardiac issues, respiratory conditions, dermatology issues, renal problems, diabetes, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) problems, surgical or orthopaedic problems or general clinics.
Blood clinics also run within the department.
Where we are based
Children’s Outpatients is on the first floor of the hospital, on Route121. Look out for the red train!
How to access the service
You will be referred into Children’s Outpatients by your GP or other healthcare professionals
An appointment will be made for you to attend the relevant clinic on a certain date and time. You will be sent a letter with the appointment details.

Children’s Outpatients is open Monday to Friday, from 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays.
In some circumstances, clinics may run at the weekend or slightly later than 5pm.

The Little Journey App provides engaging, interactive, and age-appropriate content to help calm any nervousness children may have about coming into hospital and to help them and their parents and carers better understand what will happen during their elective stay.
