Community Equipment Services (ICES)

What We Do

The Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides a range of essential services related to the storage, loan, and adaptation of medical equipment. Our primary goal is to help patients maintain their independence at home, which in turn helps prevent hospital admissions and facilitates timely patient discharge.

Our free loan service includes the delivery and collection of a wide variety of equipment, such as:

  • Daily living aids: items for toileting, bathing, walking, and manual handling.
  • Specialised equipment: profiling beds, bed accessories, and pressure relief equipment.
  • Minor adaptations: we can also deliver and fit grab rails, second stair rails, ramps, and half steps at a patient’s home to improve safety and accessibility.

All equipment is provided on a free loan basis and will be collected once it is no longer needed.

Where We Are Based

Our main facility for the storage and distribution of equipment is located at:

Unit 5 Electrium Point Ashmore Lake Way Willenhall West Midlands WV12 4LF

How to Access the Service

To access our services, a referral must be made by a health or social care professional. This is to ensure that the correct equipment is provided based on a proper clinical assessment.

Self-Referral: The only item available via self-referral is a standard static commode. For all other services, a professional referral is required.

Hours of Operation: We operate from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.
