The Walsall Children’s (Paediatric) Occupational Therapy service, based at The Child Development Centre, is here to help children and young people aged up to 19 become more independent. We support n children who have specific difficulties with their everyday activities, also known as Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Our team works with families, nurseries, schools, and colleges across the Walsall area. We provide a range of services, including:
We analyse skills such as using both hands together (bilateral integration), manual dexterity, and fine and gross motor skills (like handwriting, balance, and ball skills). All of these are crucial for a child’s performance at school, home, and during play.
We are a multi-agency team that collaborates with other professionals like paediatricians, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists to provide comprehensive support. We also work closely with other services, including Walsall Wheelchair Services and Social Care Occupational Therapy.
Our service is located at The Child Development Centre in Shelfield.
